Notes:
* George W. "Wash" Cosper was a brother of Edward Jefferson Cosper. They res Kinzua, Pennsylvania 1850-1870. By 1874, "Wash" had left the farm, probably to work in the Pennsylvania oil boom. In 1880, he was working as a laborer in Bradford, McKean Co., Pennsylvania. About 1890, Wash suffered a head injury in a logging accident. After that, he and his wife followed their son Leslie.
* In 1900, Les Cosper was a driller in Sistersville, West Virginia. The Cospers res Independence, Kansas (1905), Rogers County, Oklahoma (1910), and Fort Collins, Colorado (about 1915). Before 1920, they were in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Wash was retired, but he and his wife lived near their son Les, who was a wildcatter in the oil business.
* The Clarks and Cospers lived near each other in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Mate had two special gifts. One was her voice, which had been professionally trained. She and her sisters formed a singing group and performed at events in Bradford. Her other gift was for math. She could run her eyes down a column of figures and tally the total faster than someone else could do it on an adding machine. She did the family's bookkeeping.
* NOTE ON WIFE OF CHILD 1: His wife was the daughter of Emma Sarah (Odenwelder) & Israel Baldwin Smith of St. Mary's, West Virginia. Leslie and Gertrude had 5 children: Gertrude, Glendine, Emma, Marguerite, Leslie a.k.a. "Skid."
* NOTES ON CHILD #2: Notes: Died of blood poisoning after being hit in the mouth with a baseball; left no issue.
