OBITUARY
Christian Stiffler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Stiffler , was born in
Prospect Township, 10/6/1842.  On October 27 of the same year he received
the new birth in holy baptism, administered by Reb. Samuel Klein.  In
early youth, having been carefully instructed in the doctrines and plan
of salvation, he publicly confessed his faith in Jesus Christ, and was
received into full communion with St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church
at Prospect.
On 1/12/1871, he was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Hatcher.  God
blessed this happy union with 5 children.  Of these, Nora, the eldest
daughter, preceded the father into the land of eternal rest, 6/2/1906
In the last few years of  his life, the deceased suffered many
afflictions, but he endured them all with Christian patience and
resignation, due to his strong faith and trust in Jesus Christ, our
Savior.  The end came early in the afternoon of 11/28/1916 at the home of
his daughter, Mrs. William R. Boger, Cherry St. Marion, Ohio, where with
his wife, he had planned to spend the greater part of the winter.  How
true that we know no what even a day will bring forth.  The time for his
departure had come and the Lord called him.  His age was 74 years, 1
month, and 22 days.
He is survived by his widow, 4 children, Mrs. Charles Thompson and Mrs.
William Boger, of Marion, OH; Clarence Stiffler and Mrs. J. G. Monroe, of
Bellaire, MI; 12 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Amos and George of Prospect;
4 sisters, Mrs. Christian Adwelling number 751, family number

Lutheran Chruch, with the Rev. Mr. Hurrelbrink officiating.  Interment
