(1) Letter from Judy ALEXANDER to Lola L. ALLEN Date: December
1981: "Aunt Ona Jane said Will CARR died in the bottom lands where he was picking cotton.
He came down with a chill and died suddenly--buried there too." NOTE: Ona Jane (BUTTS)
BENTON, daughter of Gilbert & Eliza (REED) BUTTS.
(2) Letter from Judy ALEXANDER to Lola L. ALLEN. Date: 11 February
1982: ". . . When our family went to the bottom lands it was around Newport-Blytheville
area. All down in the flat land--Caraway, Black Oak etc., is flat land & is called the
bottom land where people went to pick cotton. That's what Will CARR was doing in the
bottom lands when he died."
(3) According to grandson, Cleveland Woodrow Wilson CARR, William
Marion CARR died in Hoxie-Diaz, Arkansas when John Wallace CARR was 16 years old [circa
1900]. NOTE: Hoxie, Arkansas is in Lawrence County, and Diaz, Arkansas is in Jackson
County.
