Amelung, Widow of John Amelung, is listed in the 1927 and 1928 City Directories. She does not show up after 1928 nor before 1927. Lillie was not a Widow as John Amelung did not pass away until 1966.

  102. Divorce Record: No record. Lillie's daughter, Grace, remembered it was in 1922 and herself and Hattie were left behind with their father. Lillie only took the older children with her to St. Louis.
  103. By March 1922, Lillie had left her husband, John, and moved to St. Louis with her older children. By 1927 they lived at 5832 S. Compton Avenue and she was listed in the 1927 city directory as the widow of John C. Amelung although he was actually still living.  In 1936, Lillie is listed on Hattie's death certificate as Lillie Hamlin of 3836A Ohio Street. This means that sometime between 1929 and 1936 she remarried. Her second marriage was to William A. Hamil in St. Louis. William was born on January 27, 1873 to John and Mary Hamil. William died on May 19, 1951.

(This was told to Nell White & Edna Hall by their father, Herman, who was 14 when Louisa died and there when it happened).
