Documentation:
* David EVANS, Sr.'s 1846 probate in Rankin Co., MS included his will naming his children and "beloved wife Mary".
* 1850 and 1860 Rankin Co., census for Joab, David, Jr., John, William, Jesse and Henry EVANS.
* Neshoba Co.MS census for Jesse EVANS.
* Rankin Co., MS marriage records,
* 1860 Chambers Co., TX census for William EVANS,
* 1860, 1870 and 1880 Lincoln Co., MS for John EVANS.
Notes: 1860 shows Jesse EVANS widow and two daughters living with his brother John,
and John's 1880 Lincoln Co., MS census is also where we found birth place of his father
David, Sr. and for his mother - who may or may not be Mary, 2nd wife of David, Sr.
Although, Joab EVANS widow Nancy stated that David, Sr.'s two oldest children were from
another marriage and all the ones listed above are Joab's "full-blood" siblings, when
David EVANS, Jr. administered older brother Moses estate in 1855 he stated to the court
that he was "full-blood" brother to Moses .... so we really don't know actual cut-off
between children of the two marriages of David EVANS, Sr. We are just going by statement
in Joab EVANS probate as to the division, although one would think that David, Jr. would
know more about this than a sister-in-law. He may have said he was full brother either
because it was true or he thought he had to tell the court this to administer Moses' will.
