Jacob and family arrived at Philadelphia on 1 September 1736 on the ship Harle. Note: his step-son, Johann Jacob SEIDEMANN, was also on the Harle (see family group sheet submission on him for further information) Johann Jacob BARTH was from Roth(a), which presumably is 66401 Rodau in the district of Lichtenberg, Hesse-Darmstadt. He is first mentioned in Freinsheim records on 9 April 1721 as giving 28 kreutzer for a new church bell. German church records show that Johannes Peter BARTH was Baptized 5 March 1730, sponsors: Johannes Roemer and wife Maria Margaretha and Peter Scheffer and wife (not named) from Erpholtzheim. He was confirmed in 1745 at the Lutheran church, New Hanover, Montgomery County, PA. He was known in American records as Peter BEARD. German church records show that Susanna Catharina BARTH was baptized 21 December 1732, sponsors Adam Schaffner and wife Anna Catharina and Susanna, widow of Adam Reipold. She was confirmed at the Lutheran church, New Hanover, Montgomery County, PA in 1745.
