* 1880 St. Landry Parish, LA, census roll 470, page 384, shows Thomas J. Seily, age 21, living with his brother John's family in the 6th Ward. About 20 houses away was living his future wife, Margaret Parnell and her family. His occupation was working at a sawmill, probably the same sawmill as Margaret's brother, Daniel.

Section 25 Township 3, S. Range 2 W. Louisiana Meridian in St. Landry Parish, La., with a view to cancellation of said entry, the said parties are hereby summoned to appear before Frank Wharton at Bayou Chicot, La., on the 15th day of Nov., 1900, at 9 o'clock a. m., to respond and furnish testimony concerning said alleged abandonment.

The many friends here of Mr. Tom Seiley of Caney Creek, were pained to learn of his death, which occured at his home on February 3, 1921. Mr. Seiley was a member of the Beaver Creek Baptist Church and lived a Christian life.

* Note as follows: "Uncle Tom's second wife, was Cleymen Guillory who had been an old maid. They had one child named Ethyl. Ethyl was last heard from as being on the East Coast."
* The Ligonier Echo, Ligonier, Pennsylvania, Thursday, February 21, 1963, page 2:
Mrs. Sleyman Seiley, who had made her home for the past 3 1/2 years with her daughter, Mrs. Paul A. Peterson of RD 3, Ligonier, died there Tuesday. She was 81. Born in Oakdale, La., she had lived there and in Texas before coming here. She was the widow of Thomas J. Seiley who died 42 years ago. Besides her daughter, she is survived by three stepsons, three brothers and a sister, all living in Louisiana or Texas.
Rev. Benton McKee presided at final rites Sunday in Sibel-Wolford Funeral Home, and burial was in Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
