In the list is our Joan Hend. Rensink [sic] Rensing, Geert Rensink [sic]
Rensing.  Also named is Kortne {sic] Korte, Berend Hendrik Wellen, &
Geert Hendrik Wellen. Pg. 22 men working digging peat - Rensink [sic]
Rensing named again. pg. 24 In 1830 blijken zich in Slagharen 150
personen te bevinden.  Onder anderen waren er bijgekomen: G. H. Rensink
uit Meppen.  Allen met vrouw en kinderen.  Mean all with wife and
children.
Ship Record:
Rensing ship to America: Sailed  November 10, 1839, on the "Louise
Friederike" from Breman to New Orleans.
We give you a short history of the ship "Louise Friederike."
The "Louise Friederike" was a brig., i.e. a sailing ship with 2 full
rigged masts.  She was made of Oak wood.  the constructor was the master
of shipbuilding Taake Janssen of Bremen.  The employer and ship owner was
the merchant house Arens & Bahr in Bremen.  The launching of the ship was
December 5, 1838.  The "Bielfrief" (document of birth of a ship) is dated
March 7, 1839.
The measures of the ship are:
Length in the keel 88 feet or 25,46m.
Largest width 25 feet 6 inches or 7, 38m.
Depth inside 13 feet 2 inches or 3,81m.
The tonnage (capacity of holding was 85 "Commerzlast" =255 tons.
The first captain was Jurgen Jessen Scholborg of Bremen.
The first journey stated on April 4, 1839 with 93 passengers at
Bremerhaven and took 44 days to New Orleans.  The second journey started
on November 10, 1839 with 90 passengers at Bremerhaven for New Orleans.
The "Louise Friederike" sailed until 1858 under the Bremen flag.  In 1851
she was sold to the firm D. G. Roghe in Bremen.  In 1858 she was sold to
Hamburg and in 1863 she was sold England and renamed "Wilson".
