 Documentation:

                                     -1847 Immigration: C. H. Blöcker
(Shoemaker, age 37)
immigrated to America with his brother the US on the bark Desiree and
Tully from the port of Hamberg, Germany, arriving at the port of New
Orleans, LA on 27 June 1847, with the stated destination of Iowa. It
is
curious that on the passenger list, of the Desiree and Tully, he is
not
in line with the Blocker family but is instead in line with Anna M.
Schraman 24 (who appears to be travelling alone) in between several
large
families. I could find nothing on Anna in Iowa.
-1849 Naturalization: Carsten Blooker, a native of Holstein, appeared
in
front of James Thorrington, Clerk of Court 25 Sep. 25 1849 and became
a
Naturalised Citizen of the US on 01 Nov. 1852 (in Davenport, Scott
Co.,
IA). These are the same dates for his brother.
-1850 Federal Census:
Head Carsten Blaker (sic) 40 b.1809 in Germany Shoemaker District 4,
Scott Co., IA
Wife Eliza [Unknown] Blaker 28 b.1821 Germany
Son Frederick Blaker 02 b.1848 MO
Daughter Dorothy Blaker 01 b.1849 IA
Note 1: This is the same district that our Hinrich "Henry" Christian
Frederich Blöcker was living in 1850.  It appears that he went to
Missouri shortly
after his arrival in Iowa in 1847, then returned to Iowa by 1849, and
then went to Kansas.
Note 2: Dorothy is not with the family in 1870.
-1856 Iowa Census: I did not find the Carsten Blocker family in 1856
IA.
-1856 Homesteaded: Carsten Hinrich-Henry Casper Blocker and family,
moved
to The Kansas Territory and homesteaded the city of Home City, KS in
about 1856.
-1860 Federal Census: I could not find the family in any IA or KS
census
-1870 Federal Census:
Head Henry C. Blocker age 66 b. 1803 in Prussia Farmer-Marysville,
Marshall Co., KS 1870
Wife Eliza [Unknown] Blocker 45 b: 1824 Baden [Germany]
Son Frederick Blocker 22 b: 1848 MO
Daughter Mary Blocker 16 b: 1853 IA
