      1. Immigrated: to America, 1866, Silver Lake, Worth, Iowa. Came with parents and
      brother and sisters. They sailed from Drammen on the ship "Superior" (According to
      the Enger history.) They settled near Silver Lake, Worth county, Iowa. 3 miles
      south and 3 miles east of Emmons, MN.

      2. He was Lutheran in Little Forks Church Enger Township, Steele, North Dakota.
      >From the Enger Family book, "Erick was the church "Klokker" for forty years and
      served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years."

      3. He was confirmed in 1867 in Silver Lake, Worth, Iowa. Clara Nyhus remembered
      that Erick was confirmed at Silver Lake Church. The church record shows that an
      Erik and Ellef Erikson who were confirmed in 1867. This is our Erik and Ellef
      using their father's name - Per Erikson.

      4. Moved: to Lake Mills, 1874, Lake Mills, Winnebago, Iowa. The family moved to Lake
      Mills and then continued on to Dakota Territory.

      5. Moved: to Goose River country, 1874, Enger Township, Steele, North Dakota. Came
      with family to Enger Township along the Goose River.

      6. Moved: to town of Hatton, Apr 1917, Hatton, Steele County, North Dakota. Move to
      Hatton, ND.

      7. He died on 16 Sep 1935. the Enger Family Book says he died Sept 16 1935. So does
      his tombstone.

      8. Book: HATTON HERITAGE, 7 Jul 1959, Hatton, Traill County, North Dakota. "Erick
      Nyhus was born October 21, 1855, in Eggedal, Norway. He came to Lake Mills, Iowa
      with his parents, Per and Kari Nyhus, one brother Ellef and two sisters Gjertrud
      and Ingeborg. Erick came here in 1874 and homesteaded in Enger Township.
        Erick Nyhus was married July 28, 1878, to Anna Fecher. She was born in Norway in
      1852. To this marriage five children were born. They are: Peter, Karine, Olava,
      Andrine, and Edward.
        His second marriage took place Jun 22, 1888, to Bertha Stoa. they had 10 children.
        Mr. and Mrs. Nyhus lived on the homestead until the spring of 1917, when they
      moved to Hatton. A son, Edward, has been on the farm since they moved to town.
        Their children were: Selma, Alice, Clara, Anne, Christine, Alvin, Oliver,
      Theodore, Bert, and Lauritz."

      "Erick P. Nyhus was born October 21, 1855, at Eggedal, Norway. He came to America
      in 1866 with his parents. He took homestead near his parent's home in the year 1874
      along the Goose River.
        "He married Anna Olson fechar in 1878. She was born in Norway the year of 1852.
        "They had five children: Peder, born May 5, 1879, and passed away in 1949. Karine
      (Erickson) born July 28, 1880. Andrine (Schjeldahl) born August 28, 1882. Olava
      (Nelson) born April 15, 1884. Edward born January 5, 1886. Mrs. Anna Nyhus died in
      1886.
        "Erick Nyhus married the second time to Bertha Stoa. She was born January 2, 1861.
      They had ten children: Anne (Waxvick) born August 2, 1888. Oliver born March 8,
      1890, and died in France in September 27, 1918. Kristine born January 15, 1892 and
      died in 1915. Elise (Nelson) born August 6, 1893. Elvin born March 26, 1895 and
      died October 24, 1918. Theodore born Novembe r21, 1896. Bert born January 5, 1899.
      Klara (Osland) born July 25, 1901. Selma born June 14, 1903. Lauritz born September
      5, 1905.
        "Erick lived on his farm until 1917 when they moved to Hatton. Mr. Nyhus was the
      church "klokker" for forty years and served as Sunday School Superintendent for many
      years. Mrs. Nyhus passed away December 28, 1920, and Mr. Nyhus died September 16,
      1935.
        "Edward now resides on the home farm."
