Documentation:
* Marriage Records,
* 1840 Census Russell Co., AL,
* 1850 Harris Co., GA Census.
* Confederate Records (William and James Q. both killed).

Notes:
* John W. military service: Pvt., Co G, 20th GA Inf. wrote letter to his Congressman. Filed with muster roll.
* John W. and James Q. were gunsmiths. No record of John W. after war, except for Muscogee Co. marriage. A gr.dau. thought he went to PA after the war. A son sent to TX. He and Thos. Jeff. met at a CSA convention in TX. Gr.dau. thought his name was Dick, but I found no son named Richard, or Dick. In his letter to Congressman, John W. asked to be moved to Columbus, GA. gunworks, to be near his 3 daughters, "alone and unprotected" who lived near there. Said 2 of his sons had been killed, 1 son wounded and captured at Gettysburg (this was T.J.), a son-in-law killed there. (Don't know who he was.) His last remaining son was with Gen. Longstreet's Corps.
