Notes:
* James Stonecypher was an early settler of Rabun County, Georgia. He owned several thousand acres of land in Rabun County and in his time was considered wealthy. Several of his sons served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. These were Marion Stonecypher, John V. Stonecypher, Franklin Stonecypher--Private, Co. E, 24th Regt. Georgia Volunteer Infantry; Thomas J. Stonecypher--2nd Sergeant, Co. E. 24th Regt. Georgia Volunteer Infantry; William Stonecypher-- Private, Cannon's Company, 4th Georgia Cavalry--enlisted in 1862 and released from service September 9, 1865 at Clayton, Rabun Co., Georgia. Many descendants of this family still reside in the State of Georgia.
