Documentation:
* Glaze Family Bible.
* Census,
* Deeds,
* Wills and other documents in the Lincoln County Courthouse.
* "The Normans of Normandy Hall" by Dr. Lois L. Norman, 1976.
* "Culpeper County Normans" by Nellie Virginia Norman, 1972.

Notes:
  * David Glaze was in Wilkes County by 1791 when he sold some land in Granville County, NC which had been left to him by his father, Benjamin. He appears in Lincoln County, GA tax lists and in the 1840 census. He died intestate. His estate was settled with a sale on October 4, 1825 in Lincoln County. In 1809, David was Justice of the Peace in Lincoln County. He was administrator of the estate of Jesse Walker in 1804-1818 and made payments on behalf of the orphan Walker children to guardians, who were brothers-in-law of Margaret (Glaze) Walker, his sister. Susan (Susannah) Glaze, age 50-60 appears with children matching the ages of most of those in the Lincoln County, GA 1820 and 1830 census. She also appears in the 1840-50 census of Lincoln County. Her will was dated 1853.
  * The book "The Normans of Normandy Hall" by Lois L. Norman in 1976 states:
  * "David Glaze married Susannah Norman November 13, 1798. David was the son of Benjamin Glaze and was born Feb. 5, 1769. On Jan. 4, 1802, David received 300 acres of land in Lincoln County for headrights for himself and two of his family. David Glaze was Justice of the Peace of Lincoln County in 1805. He was on the Lincoln County Tax Digest from 1802-1821, and owned several hundred acres of land. At the time of his death, he had 548 acres on Mill Creek adjoining William Norman. He did not leave a will and his son, Thomas Grant Glaze, was made administrator of his father's estate. David and Susannah had fourteen children, three of whom died in early childhood. Susannah left a will dated Oct. 21, 1843, and in her will she named ten children. All fourteen children are named in the Glaze family Bible.
  * The family Bible which was printed in Philadelphia, Oct. 27, 1802 was purchased Anno Domini 1803 by David Glaze for eight dollars and fifty cents. It was in the possession of Mrs. William E. Norman (Frances Ann Glaze)until her death. Frances was the great-granddaughter of David and Susannah. She was the daughter of Alexander Norman Glaze and Frances Cullars and married William Ellington Norman, the son of George Washington Norman and Roxanna Hawes.
  * Frances was the source of much of the information for the book. She died before it was published in 1976. Her two daughters, Ruth and Marie, lived in Lincoln County, Georgia. ( Notes: Frances died in 1976 and the Bible remained in the possession of her daughters, Ruth and Marie. They told Liz Nash and Linda Anthony in 1999 that the Bible had been given to a nephew in Atlanta who said that he was going to have the book conserved. Ruth and Marie died in 2001.)
  * I have been told by several family members that David and Susannah lived in a log cabin.
  * David and Susannah are buried in the Norman Cemetery in Lincoln County on property now owned by a lumber company. The family is granted the right to visit the cemetery at any time.
  * The information about David's birth, marriage and death was taken from the Glaze family Bible.
  * Deedbook B 1799-1802 Pages 177-179 - Peyton Wyatt and his Hannah Wyatt to David Glaze. 13 December 1799. Deed for 200 acres except four or five take off by the survey of Austin Davis. It lies on Mill Creek and is bounded by William Norman, John Simmons and the heirs of Augustin Davis. Witnessed: William Norman and Lemuel Towler. Registered: July 24, 1800.
