Thomas Dudley owned 3 negros, 182 1/2 acres along Buffalo Creek, Hancock Co.. according to the Hancock Co., 1812 Tax List. 1822. Thomas Dudley sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff. (Brantley. Hancock Inferior Court Minutes) 1824. Thomas Dudley is one of witnesses against Robert Flournoy, Sr. & Jr. to the abuse of 7 slaves who died following abuse. (Georgia Journal)
In 1829, his land was listed as being in the 113th Tax District on the Little Ogeechee with 8 slaves. By 1849, the numbre of slaves had increased to 19.
