Mr. GL Cunningham died yesterday PM Funeral this afternoon - Masons to Attend Service in Body
Mr. George Lewis Cunningham , 67 years old died at his late residence 559 Watkins St Yesterday afternoon after a short illness. Mr. Cunningham had been a resident of Augusta for the past 20 years and had many friends here who will learn with regret of his death.
The funeral will be held from the residence this afternoon at 3pm and interment will be in the City Cemetery. Mr. Cunningham was a member of the Social Lodge #1 F&AM and 3 members of the lodge Mr JPS Stephens, JW Hillsinger, and FM Barrett will act as pallbearers together with Mr. CT Bray,JH Brendenberg and MI Newman, and the Masonic Lodge will attend the funeral in a body.
Besides his wife, Mr. Cunningham is survived by 3 daughters and 4 sons. The sons are GB and RJ Cunningham of Augusta,PJ Cunningham of the US Navy,HM Cunningham of Tampa, FL. The 3 daughters are Misses Georgia and Evalina Cunningham both of Augusta and Mrs. John Edmonds of Leveret, GA., and one sister Mrs. EE Sims of Atlanta and 4 grandchildren.
