* James M. Burnsed was the second husband of Julia Ann "Julian" Harris. She was first married in St. Johns County to Benjamin James Starling. By her first marriage she had six children: Benjamin Levi Starling, William S. Starling, Jefferson Starling, Zacheriah Starling, John Benjamin Starling and Sarah Rebecca Starling. Likewise James M. Burnsed had been married previously to Eliza Motes/Moates. He had several children by her. George Gilbert Burnsed was the only child from the marriage of James M. Burnsed and Julia (Harris) Starling Burnsed. James M. Burnsed was an early settler of Florida. His log cabin referred to as the Burnsed Block house has been preserved at the Heritage Park in Macclenny, Florida. James M. Burnsed served in the Confederate Army as well having previously served during the Indian Wars in Florida against the Seminole Indians. James M. Burnsed and Julian (Harris) Starling Burnsed descendants are numerous thoughout Florida.
