NOTES: 1880 Santa Cruz Co., CA Census shows Alexander Lewis and wife Mary
having several boarders in their home that included Mary's brother, Charles
AVERRETT. D. F. (David Franklin) AVERETT enlisted 3 Jul 1861 in Co., A, 15th
AL Regiment at Ft. Mitchell, AL. He was severely wounded at Wilderness, VA
1864. He was single. Res. Tallasse, ALA. "Promoted for merit and good
soldiership; good true soldier and one of bravest of brave." John L. AVERETT
enlisted 19 Jul 1861 at Montgomery, AL as a Private in Co. F., 13th ALA Regt.
Res. Tallassee, ALA. He died at Yorktown, VA 7 Feb 1862 from disease. He
was single. Submitter is in the process of completing FGS on all of David
AVERETT's children and also all of his brother, Matthew AVERETT's children.
